About Wedding Recycle

From soon-to-be married couples looking for that perfect centerpiece to newlyweds looking to pass along their wedding dress or Groomsmen attire, Wedding Recycle is the ‘local’ destination for today’s couples.

We aim to be a community of smart, savvy and conscientious people, looking to buy and sell beautiful wedding décor and clothing all while being supported and inspired by the creativity and ingenuity of others going through the same experiences.

We are an image-focused classified site with a targeted audience, featuring highly shareable and promotable images. People have created listings to sell their wedding clothing and décor using the high quality images taken at their own weddings, crediting and linking those images directly to their local photographers.keith-renee-0015lrwm

Growing Community
Since launch in March of 2013, Wedding Recycle has morphed into a growing community – somewhere to embrace the idea of reducing consumption by passing along items we don’t need anymore, a place where we ask for and receive advice, share ideas around weddings in general terms as well as specifics and learn what to expect after the Big Day…the marriage is our ultimate destination, after all. Wedding Recycle is all this AND an online marketplace!

So welcome to the party! If you’re into it, spread the love to all your friends and family so we can keep this momentum going. Without the support and sharing of our community, we can’t grow the volume of really cool items we have for sale and thus, engaged couples won’t be able to find what they’re looking for.

Of course, you can find us on Facebook, on Twitter, and on Pinterest… because what’s an online company without a social media presence ☺

about

The Founders

Lindsay Recknell

Lindsay-ProfileA new Wife herself, Lindsay Recknell co-founded Wedding Recycle out of pure necessity…the fifteen centerpiece vases on the living room floor had got to go! But finding a targeted audience to sell them to was the tricky part – not just anyone wanted fifteen fish bowls for their home. Thus Wedding Recycle was born – a place to connect with other new newlyweds and recently engaged couples, sharing ideas, and décor, with each other.

Lindsay has always been an entrepreneur, a multi-dimensional self-starter prone to acts of randomness and dynamic ventures in her life. In addition to consulting as a data analyst during her “day job”, Lindsay’s role at Wedding Recycle is everything – business development, content creation, media correspondent and community liaison. If you contact Wedding Recycle, it’s likely you’ll get a response from Lindsay first and from that moment, you’ll understand and experience the passion, dedication, joy and motivation she has for the Wedding Recycle community and the wedding industry itself.

Redge Dole

Redge-Profile

So how does a guy like me get involved in a Wedding startup? Well, for one thing, you can blame Lindsay ???? That being said, I am so blessed to be married to the most crazy, wacky, brilliant, mischievous and beautiful woman ever. To me our marriage has truly been nothing short of a gift from God. If I can, in even just a small way, help other folks have what I have with Alexis, well that’s something I want to be a part of. (I know it’s corny, but, hey, it’s the truth)

I’ve been a computer geek and an entrepreneur since I was a kid (my little window-washing business paid for my first computer). I built the original Wedding Recycle website, giving us the start we needed to help you buy and sell your gorgeous stuff. I’m more of a silent partner now but you can still always reach me at redge@wedding-recycle.com or check me out at my newest venture, Redemption Handiworks.

Janice Murray

Janice is an old soul in the wedding industry.  She worked in retail, selling wedding gowns and renting tuxedos.  After that she started her own business creating custom wedding favors and artificial flowers, and hiring out as a wedding decorator.  In 2000, when the wedding industry was just finding the Internet, Janice started her own theme wedding website, “ASK GINKA”.  The successful resource site ran for 10 years until life and kids took her away from devoting enough time to it.  Her university background in Clothing & Textiles and Theatre Design was a great foundation for these activities.  When it is all put together, Janice has a wide range of knowledge and experience in this industry-and has been married 25+ years to her sweetheart, Mark.  This is the first year Janice has been working with Wedding Recycle.  She is involved in sales, marketing, writing and event planning, and she is very excited to be back in the wedding industry.  Reach out at janice@weddingrecycleconcierge.com at anytime!
